Mallika
The Malika mango is a premium hybrid variety resulting from the cross between the Indian mango varieties Neelum and Dasheri. It was first introduced in Lucknow, India, and has become a prominent choice for mango lovers due to its unique flavor and high quality. The Malika mango is medium to large in size, typically weighing between 10 to 18 ounces. Its skin starts green and turns a bright yellow with light pink undertones as it ripens. The flesh is a vibrant deep burnt orange color, silky and creamy, and completely fiberless, making it highly enjoyable for fresh consumption and various culinary uses such as in desserts, smoothies, and savory dishes.
"Mallika mangoes have received positive feedback at the Fairchild Botanic Gardens International Mango Festival, praised for their rich flavor and excellent texture. This reception underscores the mango’s appeal to connoisseurs and its potential for commercial success." - Deep Rooted, Under the Mango Tree.
